Hi, I’m Dexter Lynn Weller—mini poodle, devoted best friend, and proud Director of Security here at Info Advantage. Like Captain Jack, I’m a mini poodle through and through. In fact, Captain and I look so much alike that even close family can’t always tell us apart at first glance — except for my dad. He always says he knows which is which. He picked me as a puppy. He has always said he knew I was the one for him the first time he saw me. That’s why we’re best friends and why he is one of my two favorite humans.
The other? My mom, of course — she brings me to work.
At the office, I take my role very seriously. If I hear something suspicious — like a strange vehicle in the lot, the garage door opening, someone walking by in an unfamiliar hat (or worse, a beard I didn’t approve) — you can count on me to alert the team with a bark. I keep watch from my own chair, positioned right next to Mom and across the room from Grandma.
When I’m not at the office, you can probably find me visiting my grandparents. I lived with them for the first five years of my life, so it’s basically home. Plus, they have the best yard to poop in. Seriously — I’ve been known to save up just for the occasion.
My favorite toys? Anything shaped like a pickle. I’ve always had a weird fondness for them. My mom even got me a pickle-patterned collar. One Halloween, she dressed me up as a pickle. I was not amused.
Another thing I love: cardboard toilet paper rolls. When I was little, I saw Grandma hide treats inside them for Captain Jack. It looked fun, so I joined in. Eventually, I realized I prefer the cardboard to the treats. I’ve also made off with a fair share of paper towel and wrapping paper rolls. They always get taken away — but honestly, it’s all about the thrill of the hunt.
My favorite place to be is curled up in the crook of my dad’s leg. I’ve done it since I was a pup, and it’s where I feel safest. I’m not a huge TV fan — naps take priority — but I do love watching MTV’s The Challenge. All the chaos, the drama, the obstacle courses… it’s a vibe.
And my favorite song? From the movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The song goes, “dig, dig, dig, dig, dig” … etc. and when I hear it, I get so excited I start digging at whatever’s nearby. It’s the best.
I’ve also got a little brother, Charlie Chip. He used to be super annoying when he was a puppy — always wanting to play. But now, he’s my go-to nap buddy, and he even helps clean my ears (I can’t reach them!).
And here’s a fun fact to wrap things up: I was the ring bearer in my parents’ wedding. I wore a little blue suit and cuffs and proudly pranced down the aisle with my Uncle Bruce. Not to brag — but I nailed it.
