It can be too easy for anyone’s work desktop to become cluttered and filled with applications and windows, leading to a mess that gets in the way whenever one tries to accomplish anything. Chances are, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Wouldn’t it be great if there were a quick and easy way to clean up the desktop and just focus on the window you need to focus on?

If you agree, I have some good news.

How to Minimize All But One Application Window

This process is laughably simple:

  1. Select the window you want to keep visible.
  2. Drag the window back and forth across your display.

You should see all other windows suddenly minimize. Great!

But wait… what if you want all those windows back?

Well, you can access them all again from the toolbar. You could also shake your active window again. This will maximize all the other windows again, allowing you to sort through them and handle them with more finality.
