For our first employee spotlight, we wanted to highlight our President, Linda Weller.
Linda has had an inspiring professional journey that shows her determination and versatility.
Linda started her career out of high school, working in the mailroom at a small mail order company. Here, she learned the ropes of the organization and her dedication and hard work led her to then become a database administrator, and eventually, she transitioned into the role of a computer programmer. This diverse background has equipped Linda with a unique perspective and a wealth of experience of an organization from the ground up that she brings to her current role as President of Info Advantage.
Linda humorously describes her job as "all the fun stuff," though she admits that there isn't always fun stuff involved, as sometimes difficult decisions must be made, and it’s a 24/7 role. What she enjoys most about her job is the opportunity to interact with everyone and being out in the open area, fostering a sense of community and collaboration within the company.
Linda's dreams as a child were quite different from her current profession. She dreamt of being a cowboy, riding around on a horse in the wild west, and sleeping under the stars. This adventurous spirit is still evident in her hobbies, which include building Legos, taking photos, going to Disney, and running.
When asked about the person she admires most, Linda thinks about her father. She admired him for his ability to be able to fix anything that was motorized, he taught her construction skills and for allowing her to make mistakes and learn from them. These skills have undoubtedly influenced her problem-solving abilities and hands-on approach in her career.
Linda could not think of a favorite superhero, but she decided on Deadpool, for his sense of humor. Linda’s favorite book, "Winnie the Pooh," gives us a glimpse into her fun and whimsical side. A movie that she would watch anytime it came on would be "Shawshank Redemption," and her favorite place to visit, Disney World, further highlights her diverse interests. Linda's favorite binge-worthy television series is "Law and Order SVU," a show known for its interesting storylines and strong characters, much like Linda herself.
