With a background rooted in customer service and a personality that puts people at ease, Mike brings a unique and invaluable perspective to his role.
Mike’s professional journey to Info Advantage is anything but typical. Before joining the company, he spent 25 years in customer service management, working at two movie theaters, including the last decade as a senior manager at Rochester’s #1 theater, Cinemark Tinseltown. During that time, Mike had the opportunity to work with Info Advantage on several movie premiere events, giving him a firsthand look at the team’s professionalism and culture.
When the time came to seek a role with a more normalized schedule - and one that emphasized customer service over technical expertise - Info Advantage was a perfect fit. As Mike puts it, he “leapt at the opportunity” and hasn’t had a bad day since.
In his role as Client Success Representative, Mike considers himself a bit of a Swiss Army Knife. He serves as the first point of contact for clients, providing consistency, clarity and quick action. While he may not always have the immediate answer, he knows exactly how - and who - to ask to get it fast.
What Mike enjoys most is getting out from behind the desk and visiting clients face to face. As the role continues to grow, he’s found that meeting clients in person helps solidify trust and understanding. “Once they know I’m their guy,” he says, “they know exactly where to go when something comes up.”
Outside of work, Mike’s interests reflect his humor and heart. A self-proclaimed tortured sports fan (Go Bills. Go Sabres. Sigh.), he’s also an avid collector of kitschy treasures, a longtime member of the Cool Uncle Club and a devoted student of the nerdy arts - comics and video games included.
As a kid, Mike dreamed of being a radio show host, a goal he feels still lives on thanks to the age of podcasting. He draws inspiration from John Candy, admiring his kindness, authenticity, and larger-than-life warmth - qualities Mike strives to bring to both his work and his “Uncle Buck–inspired” uncle-ing style.
One of Mike’s most memorable experiences? Organizing a private movie screening for Jerry Seinfeld, who was in town for a show. The comedian, accompanied by his road manager and opener Tom Papa, watched Race, chatted casually about movie posters, and proved to be just as cordial as hoped - no autograph requests necessary.
Mike’s favorite superhero is Superman, not for his strength, but for his kindness. His current read is Batman Revolution, an expansion of the Tim Burton Batman universe, and his favorite movie is Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - weird, sweet, funny and action-packed in its own way.
When it’s time to relax, Mike admits his favorite place to visit is his recliner, and lately his go-to binge watch has been a return to the golden-era 1990s Simpsons.
